Depending on if I gotta work. Got the ok from the wife to compete, yeah yeah. Still not sure what class to go in, might take it easy and go in modified and not use the locka, that way I can try to watch you guys tackle the bigger stuff and judge how the mitsy will go.

hey guys, looking at making it to this one.. whats the deal, over fishing through all the rubbish in this thread, i have a hilux with lockers, gears, diff motor, so ill obviously be in extreme class, i dont have a winch... whats the deal with recovery stuff... what do i need exactly cuz ive herd about 5 different essentials from diff ppl... thanks, chris

· Recovery points must be on the front and back of the vehicles.
Points system - The points are simple and will be displayed on contestant board. Points will be awarded to the best club cheerleading group supporting their team. Best dressed club will also be awarded points

We now have 4 classes for vehicles:
Standard Class - Standard Increase in tyre size only.
Modified Class - Modified is for 4WDs with one (1) form of traction control ie locker. (35inch tyre are deemed a form of traction control)
Extreme Modified Class - Extreme modified is for 4WDs that are locked front and back tyre size to 35inch
Outlaw Class - Outlaw must have roll cage and window nets with helmets.

most of the ppl there are willing to pitch in and help you out if u get in trouble so all of that gear isnt really needed.

Certainly are. Once again my apologies to those whom I held up after I needed to be recovered.
Bent both steering arms and sheared the hub off the drivers side.
Stupid damn rocks, who put them there? Then I find they moved them later lol.
Bit of bush mechanics (read: tree + steering arms = straight) and she was all apples.

i too want to thank u all that help me today both time that i got stuck
i to bent steering arm (bent steering arm plus backwards winch= straight)but short repair and all going again till next sage where i manage to blow front and back tyres at once but thank to shane and suspenion stuff the recovery vehicle came to my rescue
but still had a great day made lots of new friends and looking forward to next month

yeah great day, just glad to finish without to much damage, tracks were definatly very hard in some stages, maybe to hard?? for and entry level comp there was a lot of carnage. also found classes wandering a bit from what it says on the web site.
Brendan, have u thought about running the events over two days to help with the time factor that seams to catch us out??

What do you mean too hard? The rocks were too hard but the course was great, any easier and we would all get full points. (Except for BrokenBits Racing ) My little Jeep Grande cherokee got full points on the first stage and nealy full on the 2nd stage. I had a LOT of trouble getting out of the start gate on the third stage though. Big rocks, low car.
On the next event we will bring down some drag links, tie rods, CV joints and some recovery gear for people to purchase as the carnage happens. (Mates Rates of course)

Also shane when u have cars with 35" tyres with 6"lift and others running both lockers in the slightly modded class, others with welded rear diffs in the standard class, how does that make it a fair comp, its been in black and white over and over what the cut off for the classes are but that just gets waved out the window at the start of the event because the classes above are to hard and they would rather go in a lower class to prevent damage
also with the time factor, maybe the tracks should be driven before the comp date to make sure that they can be driven so that the first car through dosent take up 45 being rocovered so the course can change because it cant be driven.

Drivers should tell the truth and not lie about lockers and be more clear about there trucks.
If you dont want to damage your truck, put some protection on it or don't drive it in the comp.
