Couldnt you use a 60 series transfer instead of a MQ devoriced transfer? They are the same offset and im sure you can get a adaptor for it and they will give you alot more room.

Mark.
Its not cool, unless it's got boost :)

Ive mounted a zook transfer behind a Toyota box with nothing more than one uni joint joining the toyota output directly to the zook flange and had no vibration issues. As long as you get the allignments right and the mounting system is good you should have no issues.

Hardy spicer sell a uni joint that will adapt the T700 output straight to the MQ divorced trans jack shaft. They also do one for a C4.

Get your point though on using what you have and being cheap.
Some times it works out to be very cool when stuff doesnt cost a bomb but gets the result.
As Tony touched on Try keep the jack shaft very short to save length.

the length of the shaft shouldn't mater so long as the angles of the unis are right.
