shane, i to agree that that the track for me was a good, an i do enjoy driving them but im thining of the other competitors who have much nicer looking cars than ours.

I also think that all the people who help out on the day do a briliant job and a big thanks to them but i think that things need to be a little bit more black and white so everyone involved knows whats happening

Also shane, to you, a big thanks for putting ur buisness up as a front for the comp and supplying the prizes. i dont mean to be a massive prick(maybe a bit of one tho)

i just thought id share what i thought might make it a bit more enjoyable for some is all

The tracks are perfect and should be driven before a comp to make shore there driveable.
Drivers should tell the truth and not lie about lockers and be more clear about there trucks.
If you dont want to damage your truck, put some protection on it or don't drive it in the comp.
i agree to but this is some of what i was trying to say, ppl that have there trucks that should be in x mod due to tyre size and lift dont want the damage and go down a class to slightly mod, lockers are easy to fix, remove the fuse and put a zippy tie over the holder

I enjoyed the comp and tracks, being my first 1, I'm still comming to terms with being beaten by a damd jeep, next time shane. I know that trucks do break down and thats part of lets say (shit happens), but every one is more than willing to lend a hand. Congrats to all thoes people that helped the recovery vehicles to try and keep things moving along.
I will be there for the next one for sure. and better equiped.

Whilst a gray area, the classes do cause some confusion. I am in modified, I have lockers front and rear, the rear doesn't work at all atm, the front does, however I prefer trying to drive the course without lockers, hence why I am placed in the modified class.

As for the courses, I think they should probably be run before the comps, I enjoyed every minute (bar the damn constant breakages I seem to get out there every event), the rock course was certainly not designed for my 75, which has the turning circle of a Boeing 747. Somehow managed to destroy the draglink, the steer rod and sheer the right hand swivel hub clean off in the one section of track lol.

I think Brenden should go before me so I can copy his lines at least :P

Comp..

Post by error »

As a "Comp Virgin" doing the navi job for "67boogieman" (Bruce modified section)
I found the organisation of the day lacking but understand that the people running it are new to it to..
As for the day I had great fun (still in pain) even though I was way out of my depth..
Agree that the tracks should be run before the comp.. could we organise a play day the weekend before (free/reduced entry) to sort out tracks, find safe viewing areas & line up parking areas (show & shine) where public & teams can view who they are up against...
As said before had a great day & found a great group of people that I would like to see more of...
Just want to play...........

A brilliant day Brendan great tracks had a ball thanks to all the people involved in making these comps happen i will be looking forward to the next one . Also no disrespect to all the comments above it does say in the rules it's a FUN event and if you dont think you or your car is good enough dont drive the stage.Anyway without the drivers and navi's getting into the shit what would bring in the spectators . Thanks to all the competitors had a great day. :D

Oh don't get me wrong, I have a ball out there, not so much when it comes to paying for the replacement parts to fix the damn thing lol. I just view as whatever breaks it gives me a chance to make it stronger/modify it more.

Hell I think people get more enjoyment out of me destroying my truck then actually me driving the course lol.

:D

It is a great comp
it is a very fun and freindly event lets try and keep the negative comments to ourselves.
brendan and his team of people are getting better every comp
remember it is a new park and a new comp so let them work out the teething problems and just support them

i was woried about competing against a hilux on 33's but it worked to be fair

how are they going to know what needs to be sorted unless its talked about? its not all negative, more pointing out where attention needs to looked at

The minimum age is as long as they can run. If we have anyone under 11 I'll be out in front to assist like i have done with the Navi's that are new to it and want some help.

The comp is fun and we appreciate the comments both good and bad. We seriously look at all the feed back and will decide if rules need to be changed.

The tracks will vary in track grading. If you don't want to drive the virgin track then let someone else go first. Also remember if you don't want to drive it then just take the negative points and drive the section you want. The Outlaw winner missed most of the rock garden on the weekend. IIEVL had it won but wanted to put a show on for the spectators. Great drive. I thought that 4mm straight bit of panel was going to be kissing that rock.

The vehicle specs have been questioned and looking at the past performances. The cars with lower spec's have won a number of challenges. So they won't be changing.

If someone cheats then that is up to them. I won't be forcing people to the higher class just because their cars have lockers front an back. As mentioned it's a fun event designed at socialising with people with common interests.

We have had papers take shots and are trying to negotiate a one off TV segment in the coming challenges that will be shown on Saturday afternoon.

The support has been great and we look forward to next month.

Regards
Brenden

We have graded the top road today and there is still 2x60m do not pass sections but we have made the track wide enough to take trailers. You can also see all the cars coming down the single track sections.

Sounds good man, when I'm out there next I'll take those measurements you told me about.

What paper out of curiosity? The photographer seemed to like the damage I was doing to my car lol.

I see there was some good publicity in the Beaudesert times this week. 4 pics a few pages in from the back and a pic or 2 on the back page with a good write up.

Congrats to all involved!

Brendan, have u thought about running the events over two days to help with the time factor that seams to catch us out??

Any one have photo's??
Thanks to the officials and all the competitors and support crews (The Chicks) for an awesome event.

The next one is held over 2 days. It is going to be HUGE.

What do you mean too hard? The rocks were too hard but the course was great, any easier and we would all get full points. (Except for BrokenBits Racing :D ) My little Jeep Grande cherokee got full points on the first stage and nealy full on the 2nd stage. I had a LOT of trouble getting out of the start gate on the third stage though. Big rocks, low car.

On the next event we will bring down some drag links, tie rods, CV joints and some recovery gear for people to purchase as the carnage happens. (Mates Rates of course)

Shane
i t'd up a few more cars and spectators for this as i thought it was 2 days

PRIZES
So far I am thinking that the winner of each class will get $250 to spend at Suspension Stuff. For those that don't need suspension we do rock sliders and most 4WD accessories.

Accessories are not on the web site yet but are available.

I will increase the prize value for the 2 day event.
