twin transfers

want to bolt two suzuki transfers together can some body supply info please (not for onroad use) please dont tell me gear sets and crap as this is wot i have laying around
suzuki lwb chassis
1.3 ltr motor
hilux diffs 4.88 ratios
5spd x 3
1ltr transfer
1.3 transfer x3
1 ltr transfer series 1 hopper
holden pwr str pumps
welder
steel
lots of high guality leaf springs

so what do you want. Bolt them together, use some of that steel to make a cradle, weld it all in and wheel it. Everything you asked for and more.

keep a lookout in the drivetrain components for sale and look for my "Roctoy Transfer rings" you could use 2 of these to better brace up your mounting system.

most people run a vit sierra combo...

joeblow has it and has done the mod for others using an adaptor he made I believe. He has had success with the setup while others have very bad experiences with it. If you get it wrong it's really wrong and the adaptor and alignment of all the components are the critical bits.

ok will explain a bit more i am fixing my old cruiser up again for tuff truck 2011 but the boss she wants to drive it but thats not the worse thing about it as she has plenty of trophies the bad thing is she wants to paint my cruiser purple now thats not on so the way out of getting my truck painted purple is build her one so we can both compete at ttc 2011
so i have all these parts and a lot of toyota parts to use but it has to be built as cheap as possible
yes i do want to bolt two sierra transfers together if it is possible
i have like 5 hilux transfers but adaptors cost to much

my cruiser is getting v6 auto and twin lux transfers

You can just bolt them together, but make sure your pinion angles are correct. Driveshaft angles may be a bit much depending on what diffs you run in relation to how offset the pumpkins are and you will need to brace them up a fair bit as zuk transfers are known to split in half quite easy with reduction and big tyres, use the roctoy ring combined with additional bracing would be the go to strengthen it up.

so the are getting old will sipe them for a bit more traction

only way to do it is run the second sierra tcase upside down

but then you have shifting and oiling issues

I don't reckon this would be a strong enough combo into a large heavy rig with big tyres. I think you'll have too many strength issues on top of the alignment issues

Agreed with Grimbo and Tim. If you must run 2 Suzuki cases then run a Vit case into a sierra one.

If you've got plenty of lux transfers then I'd be adapting and running them.

I dont think he was that emotionally attached to the idea of having a zook, he just thought he could get away with it cheaply using the spares he had.

you could run triple transfers... he has said that he owns 3 of them.

the first one goes in the stock position, and the other two are bolted to the diffs... just like portals, but with added booty fab and none of the advantages...

Why not put gears in the transfer?? Cheaper, Lighter, less or no fab and same result in the gearing department.

I have had twin transfers, not worth the problems and you end up with overlapping gears and lots you dont use, mine was in low/low most of the time, the rest of the time it was in high range.

Yeah, Ok.


It will still cost you a gear set worth of fab, time, custom stuff and hart ache to make it work.

and then you need custom parts when it breaks.

You could sell all the crap you have lying around to pay for a gear set.
