I know where the info is, I know how to perform this operation.. I dont care how good the jig is, every vehicle is different, different height perches, different drive shaft configuration, different spring camber, different length shackles. At the end of the day its all these variables that determine the final location of the spring perch and the amount of rotation of the end housing.. It can be done out of the vehicle, but is the person doing it out of the vehicle going to be able to do it as accurately as when its in there, without having made their own measurements beforehand? I think not, therefore IMHO the proper way to perform the C&T is to do it in the vehicle. The axle housing can be removed from the vehicle for final welding.. Having the housing in a jig might help ensure the camber doesnt change..
your right every vehicle is different and it can be done without the car no problem.. all you have to do is make sure the spring perchs are at the same angle as the ground and grind down the welds at both ends of the housing and turn the nuckle till its in the right position then re-weld.
i would do it myself but im just about over working on this truck plus im not 100% confident in myself to perform an operation like this one, i would rather leave it to someone who has more experience than me and who has done it before.
thanks guys

Yet you want to disagree with the bloke that has experience and tells you how best to perform it_Mitcho_ wrote:your right every vehicle is different and it can be done without the car no problem.. all you have to do is make sure the spring perchs are at the same angle as the ground and grind down the welds at both ends of the housing and turn the nuckle till its in the right position then re-weld.
