Can a Sierra run 15x10inch wide rims?

Post by JacZook »

Hi all

I am looking at buying some new rims fr my 91 sierra SPOA running 31" tyres.
Would like to know if it wise to run 10inch wide rims or is 8inch wide the limit.

I love the look and style like this from a few dealers like mickey thompson or egale alloys.

egale alloys No 58 rim or Mickey thompson the classic 2 rim
10inch wide rims are available in a larger offset than 8inch wide rims

im running my 31's on 15x7s and theyve been great so far.. a narrower rim will narrow the tyre a bit more - which is better for a zuk.

I have 15x10's (look the same as the Eagle 117)

I'd happily swap them for a set of steel 15x8's with decent offset.

8" wide, is the legal NSW limit on overall rim width.

And wheel bearing are gay with 15x10s
This is where it's at...

I had 15x8 with a decent offset running 32x11.5 with 2" body lift,
2" springs and had to fit 3" shackles but came to the realisation that they are just too wide for a sierra unless you want to run 2" spacers all round.
A 10.5 tyre on a 7-8" rim is best for even up to a 34" tyre.

Never had any probs running 15x10's on a zook. Wheel bearings lasted over a year before i changed them.

i run 35"s on 15 x 7 with the centers cut and turned inside out, and the rims are engineered, road worthy and been doing it for two years on the same wheel bearings never had a single issue.
