bt-50 body lift

just wondering if anyone has done a body lift on a mazda bt50 or ranger, as i no you cant get any more then a 2inch suspension lift without spending big bucks, im doing a trip up the cape next year and i want a bit of lift and some tyres,

if someone has done a bodylift or no of a website or post can you please help thanks

It cant be done if you have airbags. Im assuming that bt-50's would?

Bt50s can be body lifted as long as you get it engineered, some cars with airbags cant be lifted due to the placement of airbag sensors, i know of one that is already lifted and engineered and mine will be as soon as i geyt some spare coin.

Mate didnt have to extend brake lines or anything.

I know a few blokes who have tackled the cape with stock suspension. They had no problems. I myself have been quite surprised with the offroad capability of the BT-50. I have mine raised up by around 50mm. The only thing that bugs me is the BT-50 has the turning circle of a Mack Truck. My 80 series cruiser has a much tighter turning circle.

Just wondering, i got a 50mm suspension lift on my Mazda BT-50, however the back is alot higher than the front and it looks door wedge. i was wandering if this is the case with others?

Well I am no expert, but as I understand it, being torsion bar front suspension limits what you can do on the front end. You can wind it up a bit but only a little.
Sounds like they have raised the rear more than 50mm.
Did you measure the height before and after the mod?
How was it done? Heavy duty leaf springs? Extra leaf?
Without any weight the rear will sit up.
On mine, even though I beefed up the suspension, I still need to add an extra leaf because of the extra weight due to the roller drawers, canopy, roof rack, and all the gear I carry.

I have noticed the back has slowly gotten higher over time.
They are Heavy duty leaf springs however i have a canopy, rubber floor mats, 2 batteries and other gear.

It seems strange that it has gotten higher over time because suspension will usually sag over time as it settles in and loosens up.
Have you approached whoever fitted it and asked them?

maybe put solid axel up front and put coils in there too,

maybe i should just take out the suspension and just weld solid bars instead.

just a query, what size tyres were you hoping on fitting? would 33's fit with only suspension lift, say blocks in the rear and wind up the torsions. just anything larger i can see problems with front cv's.
