Nuts..................

Post by Shorty40 »

I have deeeeeep offset rims and can't reach the wheel nuts with the wheel brace I have (one of these ---> +)

I have used a good quality socket set, but it wasn't mine and it was $$$

Its a real PITA, what do others use or suggest :?:

Thanks

i use my knuckles too.

i was thinking of cutting off the cross brace and welding it further outboard, so i can reach my nuts without skinning my knuckles

Drill a hole in the other end (Through the other socket end) and use a bar through it... like the old tube spark plug spanners

Cut your wheel brace, sleeve it with some O/size tube, drill some holes in the tube and rosette weld. You could weld the ends of the tube to the brace also, depending on the brace material and who welds it, but the rosette welds will hold no matter what.

Dan

I dont think my socket set is strong enough for wheel nuts. Its an OK set for what I use it for but ..................

The one I used that worked well was JKs ;)

Go the breaker bar and extension. And just to keep 54 happy, a gold paint pen and put some GT stripes on it :D

:?: All sounds a bit bling for me... a rattle can camo job would suffice...and paint the sockets red so ya don't lose them.
