GQ body lift ????

just wanting to know off all the usual snags that go wrong on a body lift that normally leaves ya stuck for a ride to work mondays,

i've got a GQ ute with 3inch spring lift and thinking bout 2 inch body lift to make the tray look bit normall, ive heard of low range being hard to get afterwards and floor pan cracking so any advice would be awesome

hey mate i fitted a 2 inch body lift the other day and you are right low range is hard to select if you pull up the floor matting and cut a small piece out of the plate that holds down gearstick boot it will select ok that was the only dramas i had cheers

i have 15mm gear box spaces so i had to cut alot out of the floor behing the low range shifter.. i had a issue with a fuel line longer hose fixed it i undid my steering column as a precaution and that was about it pretty easy took bout 1hr... ohh and check all wiring...

have a search around. three inch lift will mean you will have to extent the stick, and also all the brake lines/clutch lines between the chassie and the fire wall will have to be extended. there are a number of problems with a three inch lift, and also the two inch lift. These include doors not shutting right, cracked floor pans, and a noticeable thump on the floor...

I have a 3" body lift in a lwb, I heated up the stick and bent it a bit and didn't have to cut the floor. Undo the two bolts on the flex joit on the steering and slid it up & down to even them out. :cool:

jeers fellas for all the advise already starting to remind me of the reasons i didn't when i had the old one might just leave it till i lift it properly.
