Rear barwork
Rear barwork
Can everyone that has a custom rear bar/bumper post a picture and an approximate cost? (and yes I have searched)
Grow some balls.
That is all.
That is all.
yeah of course Sierra because they never made Vitaras, LJs, X90szukmeista wrote:sierra of course... cost of materials if homemade total cost if bought from somewhere
So when you searched you didn't find any of the threads detailing the building of rear bars, or you didn't find the costs you are after?
Ransom note = demand + collage
No, I did not find any threads directly relating to rear bars with the information that I was after.grimbo wrote:yeah of course Sierra because they never made Vitaras, LJs, X90szukmeista wrote:sierra of course... cost of materials if homemade total cost if bought from somewhere

Cmon kiddies eat some sugar and play nice.
Back on topic, zukemeista there have been at least two threads about rear bars that i can remember, if you wait till the forum is a little more quiet so search will work again, just search for maybe 'rear AND bar' under the Suzuki section and see what comes up.

Oh damn it, Grimbo edited all his posts... i should have quoted them before I went home.
Grimbo, it you went to as much effort helping people as you do telling them to search this place would be so much better.

Wow this thread was payout time
Suzys arse
Mounts were welded plates bolted to the chassis bottom 2 holes.
And the side hangers are mounted to a plate welded on the tube part of the chassis. Hard to explain.
My flat plate mounts are now gone due to long springs and moved spring shackle mounts. so now they are sorta bodgee.. I have touched my bar on rocks once since i made it 1yr ago. It didnt budge. I have to be lucky to touch it
Also rear quarters bottom pieces have been cut to suit. You could make this bar to suit your stock tailights. Its pretty simple. (i kept smashing mine, then i went for something i havent seen on sierra's)

I am Tim
Yeh this is mine. It also doubles as an air tank. The pic of zook was before most of the mods, just got the rear bar finished for this trip.zukmeista wrote:Bump... Anyone else ? Don't you have one PJ.zook?
An over-centre catch from Schutties Fastners
Stub axle from any trailer supply joint.
I wanted to get tyre as close to door as possible for weight reasons.
Almost completed and bomb proof. I also rounded off the corners too.
Was pretty easy, i just cut away a little sheetmetal inside to enable better access to back quarter, then the lights bolted onto panel. Im not 100% happy with the lights, as they dont look as professional as i would like, and the panel doesnt have any flat surface thats parralel with the back of the vehicle, so the lights dont face backwards, they face outward by a few degrees.zukmeista wrote:How hard was it to install those lights in the rear corners?
I couldnt put them in the bar, as its made to hold air, not have bolts sticking through it.
My poor old girl got this bustle...

has taken quite a few rock hits and survived, since put in led light strips between the tubes. Protects the longranger nicely too.
