Main thing you want to look for in a diesel is service history. Oil changes should be every 5000. Alot of people don't know this and they get 10,000k changes.

Personally i'd go for the independent front suspension model. better driving on road and stronger. I imagine you won't be doing real hard off road stuff towing a boat, so a solid axle isn't an advantage.

The 100 series seems like a solid truck. The only problems i've heard of are to do with the 105 series dodgy gearboxes and piss weak front diffs.

the IFS diff is weaker than the on in the 105 ,never reverse out of anything in a 100 series
also the control arms are subject o cracking
in extream conditions the cv boots fail regulary
the suspension is much stronger in the front end in 105

the 105 is a stronger truck than a 100
they just got a bad gearbox in the na diesel

after all that the 100 will suit u fine with what u want to do with it

Thanks guys a bit to think about there... When you talk of the dodgy gearbox are you guys talking manual or the auto? Been thinking of trying to get an auto this time..
