h and 2h the same?
hi im new to 4x4's and i own a 82 60 series cruiser.its got a 2h diesel and i have been offered a h diesel for $150 complete but i dont want to buy it if nothing interchanges???is the starter motor etc the same in the h and 2h?will a h bolt straight into my 60 series where the 2h was?id like some spares but only if its usefull, the h motor runs good.thank you for any info.
thanks everyone for the info,my 2h runs very well but i thought for some spares i may grab the h because its cheap.if the starter motor and alt fit i think i will grab it.i got told its a h motor, the car its out of was a petrol and they changed it to a deisel so maybe its a 2h im not sure,is there anyway to tell them apart?my car has also had a 5 speed fitted so i goes alright

I was lead to believe otherwise?
Looks like your out of luck, Sonny.

Spit my last breath
Easy way to tell the difference, the tappet cover and timing gear housing look different when you compare a H and 2H, plus the H motor has siamesed inlets on number 3 and 4 cylinders (meaning that they're joined together, you can see this by looking at the intake manifold). I don't mind my H motor, it is slow though. You'd have to be nuts to swap from a 2H to a H though.
