L.E.D. blinker fix
L.E.D. blinker fix
Just fitted a custom bumper after getting sick of breaking one every time i go out. (Cheers Tuls)
Anyways blinkers flash way too fast with led's and i got qouted $80 for a led flasher unit, or $30 for 2 resistors.
Finally with some help from my auto sparky mate figured out that you can use a 2 point flasher unit that costs about $12 and plugs straight in to the fuse box. Just make sure you do not get it the wrong way round or you will blow a fuse.
STANDARD looks like

Led flasher should look like

If you put it in like this you will blow fuses

Part number is Bosch Flasher Unit P122
There is a equivelent narva item also.
Note that the new flasher unit is round and replaces the square one so there are no clips to hold it in so i taped it on as a precaution.
I dont use a fuse box cover either and am unsure if it would fit over the round flasher, but it looks like it would.
cheers mick

This is ok if you are running led and incandecent globes. I use to run front led and rear led with incandecent side blinkers with this flasher unit. I recently changed side indicators to led and it didn't work with the flasher. Only way I could get it working was to use the standard flasher and have it flash super fast. Anyone know a flashed to use with full led blinker systems ?
If you pin your rear mudflaps up what will protect your tray from the random shopping trolleys you come across in the bushmrRocky wrote:haha custom tray and mudflaps on door hinges so they can be pinned up when being used offroad. Wouldnt mind some nice suzuki mudflaps though, cant find them anywhere
Front bar looks good
