Fitting TJM winch to Stock Patrol winch bar

Post by yorgerg »

Hi all,

Just looking for some info on fitting an OX 12k lb winch to the stock nissan patrol winch bar, its a GU 2002 model.

Do the stock nissan bars need a winch cradle/frame as per the TJM bars, or is it ok to fit the winch directly to the bar?

Having done a bit of research on it, the Warn XD9000 is the "Standard" winch that is fitted to these bars. Will there be any issue with the dimensions of the OX winch?

Cheers

From what i have seen of a standard steel bar on a GU it looked like it was made of steel with the same strength as cheese. A cradle made up to suit it would be a bare minimum.

I have a standar Nissan steel winch bar with a TJM OX 10000lbs winch bolted directly onto the bar as most steel bars don't require a cradle.
The only mods you need to do are the drain hole and turn the clutch around on the winch it self, I hope this helps.

I belive the 12 000lb is too big for the factory bar. Just measure up. And no you do not need an extra cradle if it is a factory winch steel bar.
