Well I have just replaced the engine mounts in my auto GQ TD42 turbo with geniune nissan engine mounts.......
Prior to the change everything was fine other than making excessive noise when reversing up hill as th passenger mount was broken...
Since installing the new and I stress genuine Nissan $260 gold plated mounts I have a problem.....When accelerating hard or accelerating around a left hand turn it obviously contacts the retaining plate of the left engine mount....and when driving I can feel a slight vibe that wasn't there before.....
This did not happen prior to the change......Did Nissan change the design along the line or has the retaining plate design changed as I can not put up with this contact and vibration though the drive train???
Have others has the issue and what have you done to correct it?|
thanks
James

GQ TD42 Engine Mount Vibe
there is no difference to the engine mounts whether it be an auto or a manual transmission. Only difference is 2 bolt vs 4 bolt for the GQs. There are a few different revisions of mounts although they all seemed to be interchangeable.
I had this issue too. Brand new genuine nissan enigne mount on the drivers side. Caused the fall out block thingo to contact the side of the retention cup. This only became apparent when i replaced the passenger side (I broke the drivers side before I tore the passenger side ).
Looked like it was caused by worn gearbox mounts on mine causing the motor to sit down too far at the rear. The drop boxes also did not help my cause as they made the transmission sit down ~5mm or so which angled the engine mounts.
Ended up living with it. Pretty sure I tore the mounts again not long after fitting them (3000rpm clutch dumps in low don't help)
