Do you really have to take the front of the motor off to rerplace O ring on waterpipe! ???????????????

Yes. Do the pump while you're there. You can just buy the pump section or the complete pump with housing.

Thanks hudson,It's in my wifes verada?magna. It looks like i have to remoove the engine mount aswell,All for the waterpump!!! Spose it would pay to do the whole pump Genuine and timing belt ??????

Timing belt kit (seals tensioner etc) depending on k's. Should be done every 100k. Pump and kit can be sourced aftermarket. If you are only going to do the pump, as apposed to the whole housing, you will need to get the o'ring from Mits.

I have done the water pump on my wife's Magna and also my NL Pajero. I did both about 1 month ago, and the easiest to work on was the Magna.

Assuming it is the TE or TF magna (engine on the R side of the car), you have to jack up the car, remove the R wheel, support the engine on a stand and remove the R engine mount. It isn't particularly easy, but it can be done at home. It took me about 6 hrs from go to whoa to do the water pump, the crankshaft oil seal and the timing belt. The Gregory's manual for the magna goves a pretty good description of the job.

Enjoy! - I have done both cars twice now (both are 200000 km) and have about another 5 years before the next timing belt change is due.
