Camper trailer Q's
hey all
planning out to start building a camp trailer soon.
want to build something pretty good that will last a while.
wat i had in mind was building a steel chassis and then getting an aluminium setup that bolts to it with kitchen + fridge slides and the rest built into it.
was wondering wat people thought of this idea?
also planning on doing ind.susp. setup and was wondering what bushes to use at the piviot point at the chassis. i was thinking of using the bushes out of GU control arms as i have to bent ones and i could just cut the end off?
any help would be great. also pics of setups you have made and things that work and dnt work.
cheers chris.

FOr your suspension check out http://www.vehiclecomponents.com.au
These guys sell a complete independent suspension that allows you to adjust caster and camber and is easily welded onto your trailer chassis.
For about $1500 it comes with everything you need, shocks, drawings, mounting hardware, electric trailer brakes, hand brake, etc, etc.
Put one on my old camper trailer and it towed beautifully to Cape York and back with my lead foot.

i was thinking of using steel and then getting it galvanised... to hard to weld gal steel.
Use this for the lighting, hitches, braking, safety chain ect guidence. Its the Aussie wide accepted guide for the legalities. Also gives dimentiona requirements.
