The first question is why do you want to do it?

There have been a few built over the years, most commonly with a vitara engine/gearbox/transfer with a sierra transfer tacked behind it. In the years before cheap and reliable transfer case gears for 4WD light/1.3 transfer cases, there was a point to duals. I started doing this conversion in about 1997, well before there was even a reliable supply of reduction gears. I never completed it.

Personally, I can't see the point in all the work (or money) any more.

It has been stated that at least duals give you the option of the original low range (2.2 or 2.55:1 depending on case) but I don't think the stock low range is useful enough once large tyres and lockers are added to consider that a major advantage.

i building a toy 4 just 4x4 i have a few transfers and thought i could use them up and save some doallars but every one say it to much work i would like to give it a go no rush on the build so have time as i have two zuks one is my every day driver so cant go to wild with it
