New creek all together,we only started clearing this part of the track last saturday the 23rd.

I can't see anyone actualy driving this section without lots of rock stacking and a winch unless they take the real easy lines, but then whats the point.
In a fun social drive not a lot of point to it, BUT in a comp sense and especially one offering money or in the case of the enduro where quick laps are what is needed a hell of a lot. Cant say I have seen to many guys take the hardest lines possible during a comp :?
Unless that's where the cones have been placed :D

We are going to do the easiest lines possible for the first run.
I thought for the 2nd run that the guys that turn up can help decide which lines we have to take.

If anyone has a video camera and if you plan to watch the buggies it would be great if you brought it along.

Cheers

Great the more the better. The track is over 200m long so there will be action everywhere.

The track is marked and let me assure you all the hard lines will be driven as the easy lines are blocked off. For $500 you would need to be a worthy winner.
There are more people registered with the park so check the park rules for further details when you get to site.

Sounds like fun but once everybody has had several attempts at your hard lines and it is clear that nobody is going to drive it, I will let them through the so called easy line. What I mean is, I do want there to be a winner by the end of the day. Maybe you think the buggies are more capable then I do.

It is going to be a great day.

scrappers not mine to hand over the keys to..maybe Tony (Ruff) could be convinced to do it..Scrapper belongs to Sam O and was built by Adrian..probably the most capable buggy from QLD and most capable in OZ without rear steer(really only second to pete in his yellow American buggy)

i would let somebody who had actually driven my buggy take it out there as well...time to ring Ryano and see if the tyre is fixed

It must be 2 or 3km away. Someone else will be able to answer this better then me but I don't think it is practical to get a tow vehicle close to the gully.

Rhett, I would be setting up camp after driving past the usual comp area from the office.
This way you won't need to navigate through the general comp course to get to your stuff should you need to (if the comps still going).

I do agree with Shane that you will need to drive your rig a reasonable distance to the rock gully as there are not any camp sites close to it.

Well I have to say that I had a great time with a great bunch of guys. There was some great driving and a never say die attitude.

I am happy to report that the track is drivable however every obstacle was a challenge for all and most needed at least several attempts.

Hopefully people will post up pics and links to video footage before too long.

Some of the ledges made 40" and 44" tyres look small.

Congrats to Mitch (Spiderman) for being the first to do the track from start to finish without have to use a winch. Only a few rock stacks.

Roger in the rear steer single seater finished 2nd after starting last.

I think we only saw 1 tip onto its side and there were a few cracks, bangs and crunches.

I see someone is a bit jealous. What happens on buggy day, stays on buggy day.

is that the hard stages????

hmm...maybe i wont bother about fixinng the lockers in my buggy then

so where are the bits that you are expecting me to winch??

but an actual serious question....have you Shane or Brendan even seen the terrain that a buggy is capable of driving..not talking about a truck like Bretts but a full on buggy...mine is a sh!tter and i seriously cant see too much that would concern me enough to want to put a winch on my car..let alone some of the better buggies or rigs that would be out there..from the pics that whole track looks driveable for my car...like i say that is from the pics and i fully plan on coming out and driving the track in the next few weeks when i can get a spare day..
i will also try and talk someone into bringing the scrapper out..that is a capable buggy that would seriously eat everything imo

dave
sorry i couldnt make it.
i did everything i could but still didnt have my car ready to drive.
sounds like i missed a good day out.

Who ended up taking the $500 and driving the track??

lets see some pics
