GU Ute Ditching Main Tank

Im looking at ditching my main tank on my GU Coil Cab. Is it possible to use the sub tank as the main. Is it just as simple as rewiring the pump and re-routing the fuel lines ?

Is there a particular reason why you want to ditch the main tank. Having to refuel every 280 km's is going to be a pita. But yes it is very possible to just use the sub tank only.

If it has the large sub its around 90/95 litres!! so the same as the main

Thats for a wagon a ute is differnt,

I believe they are 95 again... or slightly lower

It certinly looks as big as if not bigger than the main

sub tank on the utes are 80 litre

you will have to pipe the fuel return hose back into the fast fill line, and change the main fuel hose over to the sub tank fuel outlet. Should not take long.

If you cut a hole through the floor it should fit, prolly need to remove the back seat also. The tanks are high, prolly finish at the bottom of the drivers seat.

GU coil-cab tanks are 95ltr main and 80ltr sub.

Completely different "in tank" modules, you will need to custom build one ... but the rear in-tank module may to able to be modified to suit.

You can use the same sender for the pick up and cut into the fast fill hose (hose that run up to the top of the filler, breather about 12mm dia.) for the fuel return from the IP. This will keep the SUB fuel gauge working as normal also and lets the exess fuel return to tank,no mods to speak of.
