1991 NH Running rough

Post by kentmarcus »

I am new to Pajero's but have just recently bought a 1991 NH GLS 3.0L V6. It is is very good condition. However The engine seems to be running a little rough. It seems to be missing on cylinder 6.

To give the best description of what is going wrong i have uploaded 3 videos onto the following site.

http://www.pajventure.com/video/

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I could'nt get your videos to work. What tests have you done? How do you know it is cylinder 6? Have you checked spark? Injector pulse? Compression?

start with the simple stuff. Compression check,at that age I wouldnt be surprises if burnt valves. Not a majorand valve stem seals can be replaced at same time.Go out at night when dark and look for spark jumping from leads, this be encouraged buy squirting with water from old kitchen pump cleaner bottle. They are a good old simple donkbut are worked hard pulling around those heavy nh bodies.

I have fixed the video's so they should be working now.

In addition i have noticed that the problem gets better as the engine get hotter.
