rear diff under the leaf springs?

Post by nlbyrne »

Hello, I have a 88' shorty Pajero I'm thinking of moving the rear diff under the leaf springs?
Whats your thoughts?
My thinking would be that the drive shaft would be to short maybe?
Has anyone ever seen or better still done this to their Pajero.
All thoughts welcome.

I'm not sure about pajero's mate, but it's been done plenty with various models of landcruiser. Theres is alot more to worry about than just tailshaft lengths, in general. You also have steering geometry and linkage issues, take into account the added height and centre of gravity changes as well. try the search function at the top of the page, there will be a bucket load of info in there for you to try and get a handle on what might be required for your paj.
cheers

I think this guy knows what he's talking about, check his location.

His country invented the inflatable dart board, submarine screen door, solar powered torch and the waterproof towel.

Please keep your posts with the same questions to one area of the forum .. either put it in the Mitsui area or General tech .. not both.
