Another great year of Tuff Truck.

I know Pete and the crew had been working flatout, and all that hard work paid off. I thought the tracks were better than last year and the facilities were fantastic as always. Recoveries using the Manitous were the fastest I've ever seen and crowd behaviour was really good.

IMHO the crowd numbers seemed down, perhaps people were turned off by the behaviour of the few morons last year. It's a pity considering the vast turnaround that occurred in 2010. I think the Police presence had a lot to do with that, and I hope that will help get plenty of families back up in 2011.

Overall, Pete's done an awesome job in his first year, and I think it'll only get better. Roll on TT 2011. :D

For those wondering about the DVD....

Kev and I are doing the production again this year. Expect another dual-layer DVD with as much action as we can cram on there. We've just started importing about 50 hours  of TTC2010 footage so we can get editing. The DVD should be out around the end of April, so long as neither of us need any sleep between now and then!

FYI, instead of us both operating under the Australian Images banner now, Kev has started up KAMO Productions and he'll be doing plenty of event DVDs this year (starting with the Eastern Creek 4WD Masters) and into the future, while I'll be concentrating on stills and helping out KAMO for the big DVD productions. The KAMO DVDs will be available from all the usual suspects, including me. KAMO is also doing plenty of work on the 4WD Action/Extreme cover DVDs, so make sure you grab a copy.

what about this rule?

"The chassis used on the vehicle must be from a vehicle that was originally designed and/or manufactured as a 4WD or 6WD with a transfer case consisting of both low and high range."

AFAIK mogs are only single range transfer as per std, but a 'crawler' option is available as an add-on.

(ps - i like watching the mogs, they are cool!)

It is my understanding that the transmission is for all intents and purposes a 4-speed unit with integral 2 speed transfer case standard which gives 1st and 2nd in low range the same 2 gears give 3rd and 4th in high range and if you have the crawler gears fitted 1st and 2nd in crawler gear the same 2 gears also gives you 1st and 2nd in reverse when the reverse cluster is engaged so i do believe the Unimog gearbox meets the criteria for tuff truck.
Confused :? yet I know I am ! but I will be able to make thinks even more confusing :? when I do the shift plate modification to give me 4 gears crawler, 4 gears low, 4 gears high, 4 gears reverse
That's 1+1+1+1+1 who cares a lot of GEARS :?

Ps when I broke the MOG gearbox in two I was 1st  then  but after  and some :drinking: we dicided we will fix it

so hopefully the uimogs sorry I mean UNIMOGS will be aloud to enter for years to come

LAY80N wrote:Big props to Dan and Ben on their win. They drove some of the cleanest lines that weekend. Unfortunatley we had a too rushed preperation, resulting in teething trouble ending us early. We also dropped a lower coilover seat, which a friendly marshal picked up for us, then was lost later on at the mud when Pete did some quad crawling. We found it half way through Sunday with the rubbish at the mud run.

BIG THANKS to Pete for stepping up to the plate and keeping Tuff Truck running. Without his backing there would have been no comp this year.

i ran out of time to put it together there were a lot of hold ups with parts for the car. there just wasnt any time to get the development in for the blower. only ended up with springs for the coilovers a week before TT

thanks to the couple of mates that didnt give up and helped me to get it there on the friday.

not so sure ill need the blower with the crawler box now :)

not much point competing if your not being competitive thats all, like asking the crowd were do you want us to break it? i heard alot of people saying why break it just drive it looked more like a big advertising capgne for powerful 4x4 not trying to drive tracks. but if it was for advertising it worked most of the time all you heard on the loud speaker was team powerful 4x4 the kings of the throttle bla bla bla while alot of the quite achievers went un noticed

wasnt there so I cant say.But I would like to make an informed, calculated and honest opinion of giving it full throttle. So if next year I could have a drive it would be appreciated. from all acounts I have heard and seen, thanx for putting the motor in the motor sports. sounds like you had a great time and put many a smile on many peoples faces.
I hope to be there in the bus next year and rest assured I will unleash ALL 140hp at any given time. Its so easy to judge from the other side of the bunting.
