84 4runner rear window switch power source?

Post by 83zook »

Hi my rear window has been an intermittent problem, but now it wont go up at all.. I pulled the console out and probed the switch and i've got no power at the switch.. So what i want to know is where the switch gets its power from?
cheers

i guess you dont have the haynes manual for it then?
The relay is behind the passenger seat and between the rear seat panel on the side.
the switch will get the power from there to turn it on and off as the relay swaps the power supply to the poles on the motor for it to go up or go down.
Cheers

mine did this. i tryed everything to no prevale so wat i did was take the center console bit out. its like 4 screws inside the bottom storage bit. pull this off and then u can pull off the palstic around ur gear lever and also the part with the rear window switch on it. under this part there is two plugs. mine were fairly dusty being below the center console alot of sh!t goes down there. clean them off and give it a go. it fixed mine. hope this helps
4x4 tool kit: Duct tape and a BFH . If it moves and it shouldn't, use the tape, if it doesn't move and it should, use the hammer.
