What does everyone think of these motors?? iv heard that because they have a alloy head theyl tend to crack alot easier than the cast iron head...has any1 had any troubles with the v6/supercharged motors??
Bravery isnt saving someone from a burning house. Real bravery is tempting a fart when you have diarrhea.

The supercharged V6 isn't an alloy head, its cast iron. The design differs from the early VN-VR in that is a lighter weight casting and the induction heardening of the valve seats is not as good as they do not last at long as the earier heads, especially on LPG. They have a modified port design as the ports are evenly spaced, intake/exhaust/intake ad so on unlike the earier design which had siamesed ports. Not to bad in a Hilux as they are shorter that a V8 and the Hilux drive train isn't as strong.

they are built well from factory, knife edge forged crank. bottom end will see 350hp easy. Heads im not sure, i had one in a vs and both heads went on me but i think the old owner screwed me a bit. But with 11psi pully and roller rockers and a custom tune i saw 200rwkw with decent fuel economy. But the engines arent cheap, just buying one will eat up half ya budget of getting a lexus v8 which is a far better option. Having owned a hilux with a v6 in it i wouldnt have one again, would rather do a 3rz conversion.
