Well I can speak from experience, i have done a 7mgte to a lux, 1jzgte to lux, ls1 & ls2 to patrol and 80 series, commo v6 to lux, and I have to say that the 7mgte would be one of the easiest conversions around. Only prob I had was using aftermarket ECU. Would not do that again.
The 7M bolts in, no welding needed. It fits in the bay (it is tight) with the radiator in normal spot.
They make great power (the 7MGTE is awesome) would wheel spin 37x14.5's on bitumen in 3rd gear no worries. And still has good low down torque.
Just make sure you get one with a good toyota headgasket, or change it before ya put it in, with ARP head studs aswell.
