hilux snorkel
hi guys i was just wondering if any1 could help me out on this i have a friend who has just had a custom snorkel made for his hilux just out of 3 inch pipe and im not to sure about it cause it doesn't have a water trap or anything it is just straight through to his air box no filter or anything and i would just like to know what would happen if it was to suck water in while it was raining or something
there is a rubber flap on the bottom of the air box to allow water to drain.stewy 60 series wrote:okay im not sure if it does if it helps its a 92 model 3l engine i don't know alot about hiluxs

I dont think you will have any problems unless you stick the hose in the snorkle, All the ones I have fitted have had the water drain glued shut as we have found it to let more water in while submerged for long times than what will come in with rain. You would need to spend hours in the rain to fill an air box on a lux ( or even 1/2 fill it as they lay on their side and the outlet is in the center)
