Hi All,
i am putting back together a 3L motor, and it has been many years since i rebuilt a motor,
Nowadays it seems that Metal gaskets are used for just about everything.
my question is, with these gaskets, do i need to use a gasket sealer like permatex or something on these, or does tightening down the bolts squeeze the gasket to form it?
eg, the thermostat requires one of these gaskets. (the metal gaskets have a slight corrugation or bump pressed into them around the sealing area)
in the gasket kit there is also one for the timing case (oil pump) and it is more like an older gasket but is really waxy, again, do i need any sealer on this?
