Hi all
I have got my hands on a NT ARB air locker rear diff center and want to rip the locker out and install it into my WT rear diff. I have never done this before and pretty good with tools. I have a dial indicator but have never used it so I have no idea how to set it up to read the backlash of the diff before I rip it out. I know that I will have to change the ring from NT to WT ring but what else do I need or check?
Cheers

NT ARB Air Locker into a WT Rear Diff
About 8 thou backlash and check it prints up ok. Also loctite and torque crownwheel bolts and loctite and toque bearing caps then hit the bolt heads with a copper hammer and toque again. You will need to heat the crownwheel to fit to the locker do not use the bolts to pull it on as it may crack it. use heat to get it off the NT locker and use a copper hammer. You dont need much heat a blow torch will suffice
no....you won't need to heat it up. a good copper head mallet does the trick for these little diffs just fine.zookprojectfnq wrote: You will need to heat the crownwheel to fit to the locker
backlash set anywhere between 0.1mm to 0.2mm.
