For about a week my air fan was very loose so it wasn't running at the right speeds when the engine need it. So i had some overheat when the engine was running.
Here is how an opened coupling fan looks
Here is the part that looks towards the radiator. Here you can see two teeths that locks on the crown gear you will see next.
Next its the part that bolts on the water-pump. When the heat is rising up then also the crown gear its going towards the two red teeths that you saw before.
Then when the heat is lower the spiral will push down the crown gear from the two red teeths so the AIR FAN will not affect the engine power and reduce the noise. Now i have a question is it normal the grease-oil to be black and inside also i have found water. Tomorrow i will go to a oil shop to ask if they have any kind of grease-oil for a coupling.
The person from Italy has used about 30 ml and also another friend had done that and it works but i have to give it a try until i get the right amount.
the code number of the TOYOTA shop its 08816-03001 now the air fan works a little bit noise but the gauge-temperature hasnt changed at all but it stills works fine.
Thank you for shring this info Same problem here in Feroza-PH (Group of Feroza in Philippines), this will be helpful to us especially in times of El Niño here.
My viscous Hub had completely locked up which was great in Summer!
But not so good in Winter as in those 0 and -3 mornings the motor never gets even warm. Is this repairable?
Ive been quoted 2nd hand hub is around $120 and new $600.
