Any suggestions .... weird noise at about 90-100 kph if i throttle of a little or put foot on clutch. Its a growling noise much like a bearing but have done frts and rears, axles are straight. running out of ideas wondering if any one has come across anything like this before

does it sound like when you drive over the audible lines on the highway? my ute does the same thing , i have tried changing tyres drive shafts, ect soon to get diff gears lapped when the locker goes in! hoping it will go away!

what sort of lift you running? is it a swb or wagon.
could be tailshaft vibes/grumbles. make sure your uni joints are on the same angle and go from there.

I get these noises between 80-100km/h, and its because i have no castor correction on the rear diff and a 4" lift.

had the same problem in my shorty its an easy fix just need to get some gearbox spacers ARB sell em it will drop the crossmemberdown a touch so your unis are a little more straight dont go to extreme with this though as it will f@#k your enine mounts if you go to low

Most of you are right lenghten your lower control arms about 16mm to 20mm to get the flange on the back of the transfer and the flange on the diff the same or get a double cardenal joint

I had the same problem with my SWB, replaced my lowers arms with longer arms, got adjustable uppers, replaced my unis, swapped my drive shaft 180*, 15mm gear box spacers, this all did nothing nothing to stop the grinding noise.
I pumped my drive shaft spline with grease, this almost made the grinding stop but it only lasted for about an hour.
I then went to buy a driveshaft spacer from snake racing and they didn't want to sell me one as they said it wouldn't work. I did search on outers and found someone that tried it and it didn't work.

I did a high pinion rear and it worked no more grinding noises!!!!!
