Dual Transfers, hilux ... help

Post by collins110 »

i need to rebuild my current single transfer case and i am considering on buying one that i can rebuild at leisure out of the car and do swaps... then eventually using the orignial for the dual setup...

my question to you guys is: are the LN106 dual cab hilux transfer's the same as my 86 hilux (yn67) transfer? and could i use both for a dual setup?

Yes, you'll either need a top shift case and a forward shift case or just convert one of the forward shifting case to top shift by cutting and rewelding the rails. Seen here:

shouldnt have to cut and reweld to convert a forward shift to a top shift...I converted my 07 transfercase from a forward shift to a top shift by getting the shoft rods out of an 03 V6 hilux transfercase which is a top shift and swapping them over......done.

surely you can find the correct length shift rods needed in another hilux thats compatible?
