hey guys iam just about to replace a cv in my 89 gq i just wanta know do i need to use 2 different types of grease, as in grease for the wheel bearings and different grease for the cv or is using the same ok?

nah mate if you want to do it right put high temp grease in wheel bearings and cv grease in the cv if it was just a quick fix in the bush it dont really matter but i suggest you do it right
93 GQ patrol td42 turbo'd ,auto, 4 in springs, 2 in body 35 claws, front locker & 4.6's, wheelers fabrications bar work all round.........

for the Bearings (Wheel and the kingpin) you need wheel bearing Grease, i use Castrol HTB for these 2 as well as the needle roller bearing inside the stub axel

For the CV you need a CV Grease i use Castrol LMM Ball joint/CV Grease

You can use Bearing grease in the CV as a stop gap if your in the bush and need to get home with a spare CV but don't leave it in there, it won't protect it properlly and you will be breaking that CV sooner than later.
