Just wondering what model the 5 speed manual box is that is fitted to the turbo diesel 100 series?

the Diesel 105 series has the r151
the turbo diesel 100 has the h150

R151 = poo / hilux box
H150 and h151 biggest toyota box the h150 are behind the v8turbo cruiser utes and troopys as well

It can, but you need matching transfer and other goodies, such as H150 clutch and possibly flywheel. It has been done though so look around.

Yo DRS,

Not yet...thinking about it. Want something bigger and turbo diesel. Either 100 series or troopcarrier. Need to sell the hilux first.

Dunno when i'll make it over east...too many little projects and trips and not enough leave :) One day but.

Just to extend this a little further...

Did the manual and auto 1HD-FTE 100's have the same power figures as one another? i.e. Was the engine de-rated at all to suit either box?

I dont think so, they are both pretty robust. "Seat of the pants" performance will obviously vary however. I prefer manuals to autos but thats just personal preference.

Was your old HJ61 manual or auto?

Same figures for all 3 trannys. The manual does have a power limiting function via a switch on 1st gear though.
