Hey guys
Just wondering if anyone can clear up some dramas for me.
I'm chasing a 50mm lift kit for my sierra, however its a 1LT 4spd 1996 stockman LWB, well body ute not the ally try variety, and most people I've been trying to get prices through arnt sure on what model it is, and some even tell me they dont make them as the rear springs are longer than the fronts. Is this true? Are there different spring lengths for the LWB's
And if possible can some please tell me the model number of the stockman?
Is it SJ41?

rear spring HAVE allways been longer than fronts.....on all leaf spring sierras.

If you go by the (Internet) chassis drawings a NT LWB rear spring hangers are shown at 965.5mm apart where as a WT SWB is shown as 975.5mm.
However when I measured my 86 NT LWB they were 975.5 so I don't really have any solid answer.
Interesting thing is that my rear mains are too short and it causes the stock rear shackles to invert at the slightest bump, I am using stock rear mains but I am unsure which Sierra they originally came from so more useless info there

There's some tech on Auszookers at the moment from Highway-Star indicating that Wt's have 15mm longer springs from the factory.
Not sure that helps, but it doesn't hurt your argument at all.
In any case, but for some small changes in shackle angle, the point stands - all the rear springs are interchangeable.
