Radiators

Im just about to purchase a new alloy radiator I can can get the same radiator with either side tanks, or top and bottom tanks. My car is on the very edge of not having enough cooling. I was just woundering if one was more affective for cooling.

I did a bit of research when i was setting my rear mount radiator for the zook and if you believe everything you read on the internet it seems that side mounted radiators or cross flow seem to cool more effectively.

I have an XJ Cherokee Radiator ~7litre capacity in the rear cooling a 20v 4age. It's a fairly custom job with a lot of work gone into it but i've wheeled it on really hot days and flogged it on the highway and the temp guage has never moved off a 1/3. Its almost double the capacity of the factory radiator. I think this is the key, if you think your current radiator is on the very edge of cooling your beast, then go bigger, and have that piece of mind that there is more coolant in the system...which takes longer to heat up and of course cool down...so chuck some good fans on there...

I can't go any bigger, space is very tight in the front of my rig.

Rhett, work out the length of tubes of both variations and go with the one that has the longer tube length.
The longer the tube the better the cooling. (as a general rule)
