That's all you get, fawkers :finger:

MogSals are on their way

Surely you need a few welds to hold things together (and the lube in)???

Or are you using super glue to hold it together like the KAM glue-on locker???

And KY for lube? I am sure Grimy has a big supply...

Keep your pants on, Serg :finger:

I have to get them back from quarantine after Nottie had his way with them the other day. I'll get some pics up then. Hopefully they haven't been too affected by Nottie's friction heat-treating and liquid cooling, though. They did look a little worse for wear when I had to pries him out of them.

Aha! They have been internally protien welded? That's old skool cool.

I'm an old hand at this technique. Let me know if you need anymore done. As you know my usual contract has been suspended temporarily so I'm looking for some casual jobs to keep me primed for when it starts up again. Maybe we can barter my services for a set of those wicked axle stands?

If the rumours about Nottie are true, the words "sausage" and "hallway" come to mind. :finger:

if stock the rear sals is a low pinion would not it have to be flipped to high pinion to counter the rotation of the 2 gear portal boxes? therefore the front would be low pinion???? or did i just have a brain fuck?

I think you can put a front diff center in the rear or opposite without changing pinion position. It just runs on the wrong side of the gears but in the same direction. That means using a low pinion as high pinion in what ever axle, makes it going reverse and that is what you need for the unimog portals.

It will run in the front on the right side of gears and in the back on the wrong side.

But maybe i am a little brain dead at the moment?!?

Thanks
Chris

Is the top diff ther rear MogSals?

Just wondering because the flanges are totally different between the two and the flange is closer to the diff than the front which also has the steering knuckles. I'm assuming its the rear, it just seems a fair bit different.

Serg I think the rear as a LP becomes also a front LP and then flipped to HP for the portals. So it should be front and rear HP with these portals

Same diff.

The top pic was taken from the pinion side of the housing (the cast ribs are visable) and the bottom pic from the diff hat side.

The rear has not been started yet. It will be a mirror image of this one so that the outputs line up with the pinions.

That's the front diff :D

But you are not far off calling the axles unbreakable. Keith from RoverTracks is building me the biggest, baddest axles that he has done to date.

You won't believe the size of these things. It will be like watching black porn...except silver and shiny :D

Sals. Want to keep it as Rover as possible.

And when I get the axles, you get some info.
