MAXI TRAC (Ironman) suspension
Looking at puting some raised leaves in the back of my ute and was wondering what peoples thoughs and experience are?
From what ive been told maxi trac is just a sub brand of ironman, was quoted $300 a pair as against ironmans $400 a pair.
Also weather to go comfort or performance leaves? its for a 92 single cab triton alloy tray. Cary a load maybe once a month (Timber).
Cheers Jonezy

I put ironman in my old hilux and after 12 months the shocks went in the bin , 3 out of 4 were stuffed and I gave my springs away .This was from limited 4wding and basically no load carrying. Fitted OME spings and shocks , what a difference, never ever going to think about an ironman setup again absolute crap in my opinion.
brissle sorry to hear you bad run but a mate has been running Iron man for a couple of years now in his Jackaroo and flogs it along the beach etc and has had no faults at all, hence i have since put in my patrol (2" springs and foam cell shocks) and i also have had no trouble. Only thing i notice is there coils are alot firmer than Kings i had previously in my old troll so would advise comfort springs as i went the next ones up (perfomance?)
I know these are both coiled vechicles (well Jackaroo rear) but we both are running the Ironman shocks with out failures. Dan is running the cheaper gas charged shocks and i'm running the slightly dearer foam cell!
Happy so far

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR , if it is cheap it is usually for a reason, commonly because it is chinese or indian.

had max trac shocks in my old lux(repco brand)
when i put my 2" springs in they didnt even make it between the pins in the rear and i checked the part nos and they WERE the ones to suit 2"lift.
after that i checked the fronts and after less than 500ks on highway they were both shot.... never again....

the springs that i had were iron man i believe.(see other post re shocks)
they were great but bought them quite a few years ago they were good for what i wanted at the time and are still going but the were the heavy ones so they didnt flex much.

I here what your saying, but if they got a 2 year/40thou warranty they got to have some faith in their product, dont they?SuperiorEngineering wrote:YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR , if it is cheap it is usually for a reason, commonly because it is chinese or indian.

Im not planning on keeping the veichle long term(12 months max) which is why I dont want to spend the $$$ on a better brand, in saying that though I dont want to be throughing my money away on cheap sh!t either.

I am not promtoing nor bagging any brands either, But i do know that Ironman has made some good steps forward in recent years with there product developement. You may not have had the current generation product.brissle wrote:I put ironman in my old hilux and after 12 months the shocks went in the bin , 3 out of 4 were stuffed and I gave my springs away .This was from limited 4wding and basically no load carrying. It is true that price usually reflects quality.
As far as an indecent proposal goes, I'd accept nothing less than $100,000 to tolerate buggery. Any less and it's just not worth the psychological trauma.
Yeah I'd also rather buy Ironmanhj 45 wrote:EFS come in only marginally dearer than the equivalent Ironman suspension kits. I know which I'd rather buy...
I've got their 4inch springs & shocks in my comp truck and they've copped a hiding, still going good.
