A mate of mine installed the air locker himself and had the same problem.

We thought it was a breather problem but it ended up being a seal in the locker not being installed correctly. Took it to ARB and they fixed it.

I have a patrol with the compressor under my seat. I didn't want diff oil smell inside so I had the installer put purge valves in.

My rear arb has done this for years, have tried new seals the breather and it always comes back..

i have that problem.

normally, i think, it is to do with incorrect installation but occasionally tolerances can also be an issue. mine is an early one and from measurements off the deal housing and the face it runs on the o-rings used are out of tolerance.

if it is old, seals can get hard and start to leak.

this is fairly common with the air locker.
