diff gears 60/ 80

Post by simkell »

Out of curiosity are the internal gears from the center of a 80 series front and a 60 series front interchangeable in an ARB diff lock?
I know it is possible to swap the gears between the nissan center and the 80 center, but don't know about the two landcruiser variants.

Any info would be awesome.

Mate I think the rears are the both the 9.5 inch diff, but the 80 series front would be a high pinion reverse cut 8 inch diff, where as the 60 series would be the same as the rear. Do a bit of a search and I'd imagine you'd be able to confirm this.

Yeah mate it is a 9,1/2 front, that why I want to try and fit an 80 axle inside a 60 series diff. I have access to mills lathes and other nice machines to mod the diff, but was not sure if the spider gears were interchangeable between the two ARB centers.
