Coil spacers for XL-7

Hey guys and girls,

I have fitted the ironman lift to our xl-7 and put some 225/70/16 maxxis on.

Still looking for a little extra height in the back mainly. Coil spacers a good idea? if so are the easy to fit and does anyone have a good list of basic steps to tae to do so?

P.S if anyone needs advice on other xl-7 extras or mods I am happy to advise as we have spent a few $ recently on this car and may be able to offer some feedback if I can on the below items

Tints

Clutch

Tyres

IPF lights

Roof racks

Ironman lift

I run a 30mm coil spacer on my GV with OME springs and its fine... you just need to check that you will have enough shock length.

I just put a bit of adhesive on top just in case.

I have 50mm spacers on my jimny, found them on ebay for about 70 a corner.

Really easy to fit if you can get your hands on a pair of coil spring clamps

Something similar to that.

Also bigger shocks may be needed to accommodate the extra travel.

its as easy as jacking her up. dropping the axle and then putting the spacers in.

To fit them... the back is easy just undo the shocks and drop the diff down, watch the brake lines and stuff when you do it and you may find it easier to use a spring compressor to get them back in.

The front is a complete different thing... IFS... you need to use a spring compressor and from memory i had to drop the control arm when putting it all back together... its not the easiest thing if you are not sure maybe get a mechanic to pop them in for you... once the front is done remember to get a wheel alignment.

Thanks guys i may just get a mechanic to do it. I may crack the poos with it if i stuff up.
