1hz plus a turbo, or the 1hd factory turbo. They go in with relative ease. If the budget stretches, get a late 70 series v8 diesel wreck and drop the whole drive line in. Measure first, the v8 might be too wide for the 60.

If you can find one. For what they are worth second hand you could have a 1hz in. Same power, but revs all the way to 4000rpm no hassles. a 12ht at 4k is like holding onto a v8 powered vibrator.Wambat wrote:simple, 12ht, drops straight in, dont need engineers cert, and can have plenty of power
I know what 12ht's are capable of, but if you want driveability a little closer to a petrol engine, the 1hz/1hd is the way to go

is the 1hz 1hd, still mechanical injection.
also with those motors, you still have to get engineers cert, they will probably need different engine mounts, and you will have to use a different gearbox.
the 4 k for a 12ht, is pretty much the end of it, no more costs, where as dropping in anything else is going to require aditional costs. money which could be spent on upgrades.

I find quite the opposite. The 12HT is a much nicer engine to drive. It makes its max torque alot earlier which means you don't have to rev the crap out of it.oldmate wrote:If you can find one. Its also Direct Injected, and designed for a turbo. So wind that boost up and you have a much better engine than a 1HZ even if it has a turbo added.
And as already mentioned, everything just about bolts up. No mod plate, easy!
