td42 intake manifold

Post by insane_patrol »

hey guys,

just wondering does anyone know where i can find custom intake manifolds for the td42? i have dts turbo running 15psi and am fitting custom 800hp w2a plazmaman intercooler kit with 620x330x40 heat exchanger core size apparently they tell me is best option for diesel as i will be looking at runnning 20+ when i purchase the custom jpc turbo and have been told the stock intake manifold wont be good enough for air flow.
any help would be great and also if you have any other idea regarding intercooling as i havent purchased the kit yet and is $2400 with fan and pump and rad and cooler.

cheers

Inbuilt laminova will cure your problems.

I built my own. We have done a number for various vehicles, there won't be anything wrong with your intercooler, you have already spent the money, they are a quality cooler I run one on my XR6 Turbo and I picked up 30 rwKw as the cooler intakes allow the engine to run about 3-4 degrees more total timing without knock/pinging.

I've no idea where mine is now, the engine has since been sold twice.
Here is an old photo from when I was building it that shows most of the manifold.

Before putting it on your TD42, I would respectfully suggest you pressure test it 1st, particularly on the water side. You can't afford a water leak getting into the inlet manifold.

Joel, I have your motor. Did you have a body lift to fit the cooler in? I will be fitting the motor in the next few weeks hopefully.

What sort of power and torque are you guys making with the TD42?

What can you get reliably out of a stock one?

You can get more reliably but you need to mod the pump.
