just wondering where to get an EGT guage fitted in se QLD,
i bought a feebay special
on an 80 series with safari turbo & 3" mandrel bent pipe with no restriction,
if it makes a difference,
Any exhaust shop should be able to do it. Get it in the dump pipe nice and close to the turbo, if you have it right down the dump pipe your readings will be way out.

cheers Aaron.
They'll just put the bung in the exhaust for you (in the dump). You'll have to wire it up and possibly fit the probe yourself. Honestly, its not that hard of a job - unless you're a complete gumby, you should manage fine.
As for the probe in the dump vs manifold, I know in the manifold is more accurate, but I think 99% of people run them in the dump pipe anyway.
a bit more mucken around?
i went to the exhaust shop the fella knew what to do,
fits em all the time for on track over the road
2moro morn for wiring up,due to cheap ebay guages.
no warranty if no qualified fittment
has anybody had experience with these cheaper guages
cheers for all ya help fellas i appreciate it.

It comes down to what you want a pyro for.
If you just want another gauge, then in the exhaust is fine, but if you want it for tuning and engine protection then the manifold is the only way to get real readings.
Dump pipe readings vary depending on boost, turbine efficiency and EGT's themselves. There is no good way to predict upstream temps from downstream temps, fudge factors like adding 100-200 degrees are just guesswork, temp drops across the turbine can be over 300C.
