So been having problems with Roza for awhile now, bad oil leakS, running very rich, burning a lot of oil too, the list goes on...
Decided to put a "new" motor into her so I picked up a Daihatsu Applause motor last week and started working on it a few days ago.

Re: my little build log...
Great pics! You finished yet?
Re: my little build log...
Nah not yet
I decided that while the motor is out, that I will replace a few fittings and hoses. So going to visit Daihatsu/Toyota spares tomorrow to pick up a few parts.

Looks good!
Did you have trouble getting the old sump gasket off the block and sump?
Did you ue gasket goo rather than a new gasket on the sump?

Haven't updated in awhile, but everything went well and car is running really nice now
Just use a razor blade to remove the old gasket goo, and Daihatsu don't make a gasket for the sump. Even the service manual shows that you have to use goo.bexi wrote:Looks good!
