So been having problems with Roza for awhile now, bad oil leakS, running very rich, burning a lot of oil too, the list goes on...
Decided to put a "new" motor into her so I picked up a Daihatsu Applause motor last week and started working on it a few days ago. http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/viewtopic ... 8&t=214095" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I decided that while the motor is out, that I will replace a few fittings and hoses. So going to visit Daihatsu/Toyota spares tomorrow to pick up a few parts.
Haven't updated in awhile, but everything went well and car is running really nice now

Did you have trouble getting the old sump gasket off the block and sump?
Did you ue gasket goo rather than a new gasket on the sump?
Just use a razor blade to remove the old gasket goo, and Daihatsu don't make a gasket for the sump. Even the service manual shows that you have to use goo.
