tie rod ends

Done a search, couldnt find anything.
I am trying to replace the RH tie rod end. How do you remove them without a puller?
I heard by hitting them, the bolt expands?
Any hints?
94 swb sierra.

BFH on the housing that the tapered bolt actually sits in.

just tried this. No luck...
Any other advice?

Get a bigger hammer :finger:

Perhaps some from of penetrating lubricant and time.

And a bigger hammer.

I've generally found that a few whacks with a hammer while pulling on the joint and it'll pop out. Hitting lightly with a big hammer tends to work better than exerting stupendous amounts of energy with a mediocre hammer.

JUST GOT IT OUT!! woohoo!

Do you need to put grease on the bolt when putting in new ones?

As for the grease, I never do - buy being an IT guy, I'm hardly charged with the authority to give an answer on that ;)

Bit of anti seize stuff wouldn't hurt. But I've never done it.
