jimny wide vs. jimny

Post by ShuDuck »

What is the width difference on the wide and narrow jimny? Is it possible to fit rims and tires so they do not stick out past the body?
I want a narrow jimny but I will have to strip the plastic off a wide. And where there a LHD JB23W (660) ? that is what I really want

The difference will be in the width of the axle housing, not rims. similar to the sierra/samura/sj410/whatever they are in norway, widetrack and narrow track.

You may be able to find rims off a vitara/escudo/sidekick with a minimal offset, and put them on, but you may run into other issues such as hitting the steering arms on the knuckles.

Also once you take of the wide jimny flares, there will be square holes in the guards from clips holding the flares on. You may not like the look of holes in the guards.

We have RHD wide 1.3 jimnys Only.

Thanks, so the control arms are placed similar on both models unlike the NT and WT sierra ? You know how much the axle difference is? Maybe a set of samurai axles would do the trick

Square holes I can just weld up, so no problem. But it seems like the NT jimny have som plastic around the wheel arches, and that might be hard to get. maybe I can just import one from japan and convert it to LHD

get the jimny as wide as possible, then use store-bought rubber flaring like this to cover the wheels:

its called "flexy flare" here.

Seems like I cant get it registered. car must have a Certificate of Conformity in europe to get it registered as a RHD, one imported from japan(cars not for the european marked) I cant get register it seems. guess i have to import one and build on a norwegian chassis etc. and install engine(660) ++, that I MIGHT get licensed. pfh, stupid laws
