Tiger11 Z winch install

Post by DAZ »

I am fitting a Tiger11 Z 9000lb winch in a standard ARB non winch bar and i have a few questions if any one can help it would be greatly appreciated.

can you rotate the end easy so the handle to engage/disengage etc is in a different position to how it comes? ie i want to put a hole in the bar and have the handle come up through it instead of have to reach in and under car to operate it.

Also it came with rope and a plate type fair lead where i have untill now always had cable and rollers. At what height do i fit the fair lead plate?? Hope that makes sence.

Thanks if you can help cheers Daz

The hawse fairlead bolts up to the bottom bolts of the winch. The housing can be spun around to place the handle almost anywhere.

The style of bar Daz has is exactly the same as the winch bar. It just doesn't have the cut outs so there is no need to reinforce the bar.

One more question

A slow drawn out job i know  aparantly i prommised to do some work around the house :bad-words:

I have finished mounting the controler on the inner guard close to battery. Although i have not used the winch under load it certainly seems to be fine in the shed the 2 speed bit is very cool, pitty you can not change it from hi to low in the cab.

The one thig im not sold on is the remote control the winch dose not seem to stop as quick as when use via wire control.

My question; I wish to wire a in cab controler i have run 3 wires from the control box to a rocker switch in the cab. There is 3 wires (3 pin controler) that go to the back of the hand controler plug. I think red, yellow and brown from memory. Do i just test which wire is powered all the time and run it to the central connection on the rocker switch? is it that easy?

Thanks for your help Darren

Red wire is battery power, yellow (terminal 'A' on solenoid)is in & brown/white (Terminal 'C') is out. Are you able to post a photo of the solenoid wiring? Mine was spinning opposite to what it should so I've swapped the stator field wires around. Just want to ensure it was these wires around the wrong way and not the small control wires. There are two different wiring diagrams on the Tigerz website which show opposite things.

if you turn the middle pieces instead of the end plate what will happen is only 1 gear will work

This feed back is awesome dude thanks im sure im not the only one benifiting from it. My computer dose not have sound what was the reason he was pulling the seal out turning it and showig it? Is it for a drain hole for water ?

Dose the winch suffer from holding water (the way i have it installed) if submursed etc?

Im very keen to see how it performs under load etc?

Can you winch with the gear in hi if the elec motor is not struggling? If ove loaded in hi is it lily to damage the elec motor or gear box first?

I love the look of the double motored winch above i am wondering if i should put one on Bob and start comping him? How much $$ are they?

Thanks Darren

you are able to go thru rivers ect no problems

if you were using the winch in the water for a recovery i would when you had some spare have a check to see water did not enter.
We endeavour to do the best we can keep water out, there is a twin lip seal either end of the motor.
Silicone in join on the motor

WINCHING IN FAST GEAR

If your load is over 3000lb the winch will cut out ,,it has a overload protective device
Same in low gear 9000lb it will cut out

maintenance is the secret to all winches

No the black goes to the black point on winch

blue cable has replaced the yellow to the winch

bright red goes to battery

red with black tape goes to red on winch
hope that helps

Most winches remote controls operate the same way. A delay to start and a delay to finish.
Be particularly careful if your spooling the cable on in high speed with the remote control

Personally I only use the std controller or an in-cab switch.

At this point in time i have decided to put them on hold

Twin Motor Winch
Im not happy with the wirring set up of the 2nd motor back to the control box.

Auto Clutch Winch
The control box also is not acceptable ,and our new control box is not compatiable with the Auto Clutch Winch
