1FZFE rear main

Post by Willy Hilux »

Any body know the size of the rear main for a 4.5l petrol landcruiser 1FZFE?

Toyota want $91 for a seal. Nearly fell over when they told me this. But everone has said go toyota seals, as they are better.

Any info would be good. Cheers

Make sure it's leaking from the seal and not the sump. You need the gearbox, flywheel and backing plate off to do this though, which makes it a PITA. Most leaks at the back are from the sump gasket (sealant). As for size I have no idea, but if it is leaking, go the Toyota seal.

Cheers, Getting the clutch replaced. So will get the mechanic to check over everything. Will replace the rear main while he is in there. Will also get him to check sump geasket. Anything else that might cause a leak between motor and gearox (motor oil) ??
